LINGOS Releases Last Mile Learning Open Portal

“What is most exciting about Last Mile Learning,” said Mike Culligan, LINGOs director of Last Mile Learning, “is that now, for the first time ever, anyone working to improve the lives of the world’s poorest communities will have access to similar world-class learning resources at no cost.”

LINGOs announces the availability of the Last Mile Learning Open Portal, a catalog of free courses available in multiple languages and delivery formats to professionals working in international development and relief sectors. Organized into learning paths that reflect the competency areas of most value to international development professionals, each course is available in three delivery formats—self-paced eLearning, face-to-face, and blended online.
To get started, learners can:
  1. Create a user account at www.lastmilelearning.org.
  2. Access free learning resources from the Last Mile Learning course catalog.
  3. Share news about the Last Mile Learning Open Portal with others working in the sector.

Availability

Learning resources are currently available for project management and people management learning paths, and dozens of additional courses will be available in the coming months.
Last Mile Learning also provides resources for trainers, who can download free facilitation packages for each of the Last Mile courses. These packages include all the materials trainers need to lead face-to-face and blended online sessions. The resources are open source and can be adapted, edited, and modified to meet the needs of specific audiences.

Deploy courses through LMS Lite portal

Additionally, organizations can deploy and manage the Last Mile Learning catalog through a custom-branded LMS Lite portal. In addition to the learning catalog, organizations with an LMS Lite account also receive tools to create their own self-led learning; to access a virtual online training classroom; and to deploy community management software that allows learners to connect, share, and learn from each other.
